Fullstack Engineer

The Senior .NET Fullstack & DevOps Engineer develops and operates Digital MRV solutions for Nature-based Solutions, translating climate and verification requirements into secure, scalable digital products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role delivers and integrates end-to-end dMRV capabilities across SustainCERT and TÜV SÜD platforms. As a hands-on senior engineer, the role drives software quality, cloud operations, automation, security, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Digital MRV (dMRV) solutions, including backend services, APIs, web applications, and integrated data workflows.
  • Translate product, verification, and business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures and technical solutions.
  • Develop and integrate cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven applications using .NET and approved platform technologies.
  • Implement monitoring, reporting, verification, evidence management, traceability, and auditability workflows for Nature-based Solutions projects.
  • Integrate external data sources, including geospatial, Earth Observation, remote sensing, IoT, registry, and field-monitoring systems.
  • Build, automate, and optimise CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, cloud environments, and DevSecOps practices to ensure secure and reliable delivery.
  • Develop and maintain production-ready systems with robust observability, monitoring, alerting, resilience, backup, and recovery capabilities.
  • Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous operational improvements to enhance platform reliability, security, and performance.
  • Embed quality and security by design through automated testing, code reviews, threat modelling, secure coding practices, and technical risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with product, data, platform, security, and domain experts to deliver high-quality solutions using agile delivery practices.
  • Communicate technical designs, trade-offs, risks, and progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive engineering excellence through technical leadership, mentoring, knowledge sharing, reusable frameworks, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives.

Key Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade web applications and cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, asynchronous processing, and data access technologies.
  • Experience developing modern web applications using TypeScript and contemporary frontend frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, API design, security, authentication/authorization, data modelling, and system integrations.
  • Proficiency in relational databases, schema design, performance optimization, and data integrity management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps/CI-CD automation practices.
  • Knowledge of production operations, observability, automated testing, secure software development, and incident management.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Exposure to carbon, climate, sustainability, dMRV/MRV, geospatial, environmental data platforms, or other regulated and audit-driven environments is highly desirable.
