Working directly with senior Defence leadership, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, improve organisational effectiveness and help shape the future direction of a critical capability area.
Your new role
This is not a technical cybersecurity position, but it is within a Cyber Area of Defence. Instead, the focus is on understanding how a complex Defence function operates, identifying what success looks like, and developing meaningful frameworks, metrics and reporting that enable leaders to make informed decisions.
You'll work across diverse stakeholder groups ranging from senior military officers and executives through to operational teams, helping establish consistent performance measures, improve governance practices, analyse organisational effectiveness and deliver strategic insights that support critical business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing performance management frameworks aligned to strategic objectives
- Reviewing and improving governance structures, reporting processes and operating models
- Producing executive-level reporting, dashboards, governance packs and performance insights
- Conducting organisational and business analysis to identify improvement opportunities
- Providing evidence-based recommendations to support leadership decision-making
- Mapping current-state processes, functions, stakeholder interactions and reporting structures
- Supporting organisational reform and change initiatives within a complex Defence environment
- Engaging with senior stakeholders to understand priorities, risks, challenges and performance requirements
What you'll need to succeed
You will also possess:
- Strong Business Analysis experience operating at a strategic and organisational level
- Experience developing performance management frameworks, KPIs and success measures
- Proven governance design, review and improvement capability
- Strong organisational analysis and operating model review experience
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with EL2, SES and senior leadership audiences
- Experience translating complex information into concise executive insights and recommendations
- The ability to operate autonomously and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience within Defence, cyber assurance, risk management or national security environments will be highly regarded
