Summary
Two Functional Business Analyst roles on a major digital transformation and legacy modernisation program in North Sydney. Day to day you own analysis and requirements for an assigned workstream, translating complex business, operational and regulatory requirements into clear, build-ready solutions.
Working within a complex, high-profile technology program, you will take ownership of the analysis and requirements activities for an assigned workstream, translating complex business, operational and regulatory requirements into clear, build-ready solutions.
This role will suit a hands-on Business Analyst who is comfortable working across both business and technology teams and can confidently challenge requirements, resolve ambiguity and drive decisions through to completion.
On a daily basis you will:
- Owning end-to-end functional analysis and requirements across your assigned workstream.
- Gathering, analysing and documenting complex business and system requirements.
- Developing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows and functional requirements.
- Conducting as-is and to-be analysis to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
- Maintaining traceability across requirements, solution designs, APIs, integrations, user interfaces and testing.
- Working closely with technical teams to analyse APIs, events, integrations and system behaviour.
- Supporting data migration, reconciliation, exception handling and legacy-to-modern platform transition activities.
- Partnering with QA teams to ensure requirements are effectively mapped to test cases.
- Supporting UAT planning, defect triage and validation of delivered solutions.
- Reviewing vendor deliverables and identifying gaps against agreed requirements.
- Facilitating workshops and working through complex or conflicting stakeholder requirements.
- Acting as the key link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- 5+ years' experience as a Functional Business Analyst working across complex technology programs.
- Strong experience within digital transformation, system implementation or legacy modernisation projects.
- Proven experience working in structured project/program environments with defined governance and delivery milestones.
- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Strong skills developing user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Experience working with developers, testers, architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
- A good technical understanding with the confidence to engage in discussions around APIs, integrations and system design.
- Experience supporting data migration and complex system transitions.
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement and requirements elicitation skills.
- Experience working with external software vendors or technology providers.
- Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Office 365, with exposure to tools such as Figma and Miro highly regarded.
