Funding Manager (Mortgage Lending)

The Funding Manager oversees the mortgage closing team and ensures the accurate and timely preparation, review, and funding of residential mortgage loan closings. This role manages workflows, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, coordinates with title companies and internal departments, and provides leadership to support service levels and loan pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and train closing department staff, including closers, funders, and support staff.
- Assign workloads and ensure adequate coverage for high-volume periods.
- Monitor team performance against closing timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure all loan closings are scheduled, prepared, and completed accurately and on time.
- Review closing documents for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Coordinate wire funding and post-closing processes with internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and investor guidelines, including TRID, RESPA, TILA, FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac requirements.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards for closing documentation and procedures.
- Liaise with underwriting, processing, secondary marketing, and post-closing departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.
- Serve as point of contact for title companies, attorneys, and other closing agents.
- Evaluate existing closing processes and implement improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain and update closing policies, procedures, and training materials.
