About the role
We are seeking a creative and passionate Game Designer to join our game development team in Malaysia. You will collaborate closely with programmers, 2D/3D artists, UI/UX designers, and producers to translate vision into playable reality.
Key responsibilities
Conceptualize and iterate on core gameplay loops, rules, controls, camera dynamics, and combat/progression systems.
Author and maintain clear, thorough Game Design Documents (GDDs), technical specs, wireframes, and flowcharts for engineers and artists.
Map out levels, puzzle design, quest flows, or encounter pacing that align with the overall creative direction.
Tune game parameters, difficulty curves, reward structures, and free-to-play monetization/economy loops using spreadsheets and data models.
Set up design assets, tweak variables, and prototype mechanics directly inside game engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal Engine via visual scripting or Lua/C#).
Partner with programmers to implement features, artists for visual cohesion, and QA to playtest, gather analytics, and refine gameplay based on feedback.
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Multimedia Development, Interactive Media, or a related field (equivalent industry experience accepted).
2+ years of professional experience as a Game Designer, with at least 1 shipped title on mobile, PC, or console.
Practical experience with Unity 3D or Unreal Engine (Unreal Blueprints experience is a strong plus).
Basic scripting/programming knowledge (C#, C++, Lua, or Python) and mastery of spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets) for game balancing.
Deep understanding of game mechanics, UX design, player psychology, and current gaming industry trends.
High proficiency in spoken and written English (essential for regional studio communication)
