General Manager – Commercial & Communication

About the Role

Urban Crescent Furniture Limited, a Nigerian furniture manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Commercial & Communications Division, drive revenue growth, strengthen brand positioning, improve customer experience, and oversee business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
• Lead Sales, Customer Service, and Business Development, including forecasting, pricing, and pipeline management.
• Oversee corporate communications, brand positioning, public relations, social media, content creation, and digital campaigns.
• Establish customer service standards, manage customer relationships, and oversee complaint resolution and retention.
• Supervise Quality Control and ensure compliance with product standards.
• Oversee CRM, billing, reporting systems, technology adoption, and process improvements.
• Manage departmental budgets, performance targets, and accountability frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, develop managers, and drive departmental performance.
• Prepare executive reports, financial insights, and strategic recommendations for the Founder and Managing Director.
• Collaborate with the GM, Operations & Resources to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including 5 years in senior management or executive leadership.
• Proven experience managing multiple departments and delivering commercial results.
• Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and people-management abilities.
• Knowledge of corporate communications, brand management, customer experience, and digital business systems.
• Experience in furniture, interiors, manufacturing, or premium consumer goods is an advantage.
• Relevant professional qualifications are an added advantage.
