The Systems team is heavily involved in the development of several technical solutions to support a high profile international project. The right candidate will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic for geospatial software development, with strong experience developing web solutions using ESRI Arc GIS Server, ASP. NET and Java Script libraries.
Responsibilities Support the specification, documentation and design of technical solutions Development of Open Layer and Arc GIS client API map components Provide technical assistance and support to other developers within the project team Perform and deliver allocated project tasks, to quality, time and budget requirements, as directed by team leader To provide input to the development of the deployment plan To document agreed solutions according to project standards Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients To support the deployment of the solution, including preparation and delivery of analysis, demonstrations, workshops, training and documentation Requirements Numerate degree (Computer Science or Mathematics preferred) (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years experience within the IT/GIS industry, with a minimum of three years experience developing solutions with Geospatial technology Exposure and experience working in an agile development environment Demonstrate proficiency in ASP. NET, C#. NET, HTML, CSS, Java Script, AJAX, Jquery, REST and SOAP Experience in the development of solutions using one or more of ESRI Arc GIS for Share Point; ESRI Arc GIS API for Silverlight/WPF; Open source GIS (e.g. Open Layers and Geo Server); Oracle Spatial; Postgre SQL / Post GIS; Java; OGC standards; Microsoft Share Point; Jquery Proficient in the delivery of allocated project tasks, to quality, time and budget requirements Right for Good problem solving skills and ability to work within a development team environment Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to embrace new skills Be able to contribute to other elements of the project lifecycle: i.e. software release, support and maintenance and documentation Good communicator in the English language, both written and verbal, and with colleagues and clients Adaptability, pragmatic and flexible Additional Information Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary Travel to other Communications offices in the UK or overseas may be required Benefits and Compensation Atkins’ competitive core benefits package A competitive salary Accommodation allowance Transportation allowance 22 working days annual leave (based on 5 day working week) Medical and life insurance cover Company gratuity scheme Discretionary bonus scheme Annual flight allowance to point of origin
