YOUR ROLE
As the Global Cost Technical Optimization Manager, you will lead Versigent's global strategy for product cost competitiveness and profitability improvement across the EDS portfolio. You will identify, prioritize, and drive technical cost optimization opportunities throughout the product lifecycle, partnering closely with Engineering, Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Program Management, and customers to deliver sustainable margin expansion while maintaining product performance, quality, and reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own global CTO funnel management, savings tracking, and realization governance.
Define and drive annual material cost, labor cost, and margin improvement targets.
Report CTO performance, savings realization, and ROI metrics to executive leadership.
Engage directly with OEM customers and key suppliers to develop and implement mutually beneficial cost optimization initiatives.
Support commercial negotiations by providing technical cost analysis, business cases, and engineering alternatives.
Lead competitive benchmarking, product teardowns, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), and technology scouting activities to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Monitor industry trends, emerging materials, manufacturing technologies, and innovation opportunities impacting EDS competitiveness.
Collaboration across all the functions for planning of cost optimization workshops and implementation of new idea within the projects
Drive operating income (OI) improvement initiatives across the full product lifecycle, from RFQ through end-of-production. Build and lead a global community of CTO practitioners and regional margin improvement leaders.
Establish governance, best practices, methodologies, and reporting standards for CTO activities worldwide
Effectively allocate own and assigned resources to numerous simultaneous teardowns, workshops and other CTO activities
Provide coaching and subject matter expertise support for engineering project leaders in terms of optimal technical solutions for profitability
YOUR BACKGROUND and QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
Deep knowledge of wire harness architecture, routing strategies, connector systems, terminals, protection components, fastening solutions, and manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, VA/VE, should-cost analysis, and product cost modeling.
Experience with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems preferred.
Demonstrated success delivering measurable cost reduction and margin improvement programs.
Very good understanding of business processes and routines in automotive and in particular EDS commodity
Industry expertise and deep understanding of major EDS industry technical solutions, materials, innovations
Minimum 10 years’ engineering leadership experience in the EDS industry
Wiring harness application knowledge
Self-starter, ability to manage multiple activities effectively with minimal oversight
Strong presentation and communication skills
Analytical capability and business acumen
High energy, a passion for success, the strong desire to win new contracts
Willingness to travel globally~40%
Fluent in English
