Golang Backend Developer
Summary
This role involves developing backend services and security tooling using Golang, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms within a cybersecurity team. The developer will design features, implement AI agents for vulnerability analysis, and manage infrastructure as code in a hybrid work environment.
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Work Mode: Hybrid
Location: Montreal (Day 1 onboarding onsite/in office presence 3x/week)
Responsibilities
- Join the growing HashiVault squad to enhance services and user experience in the cybersecurity space.
- Design and implement new features, tooling, and automations to support cybersecurity controls and improve resiliency and reliability.
- Engage in feature design and development for security controls, implement tooling or AI agents for vulnerability analysis and cyber resiliency.
- Participate in service delivery, DevOps tasks, and develop testing frameworks and suites.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Support continuous improvement through remediations against security findings, development, automation, and effective observability solutions.
- Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles and global product-specific guidelines.
- Develop new integrations and onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the company's ecosystem.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
- Deliver knowledge sharing and participate in cross-pollination of good practices and standards, providing documentation and presentations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of development experience for backend/full-stack Golang including REST APIs and microservices concepts.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Kubernetes, including Helm.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of Azure, AWS, and GCP services.
- Solid skills in AI-enhanced software design and development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a collaborative approach.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with IBM HashiCorp products such as Vault or Terraform.
- Experience with AI agent development, including leveraging MCP, A2A, or Vector DBs in AI agent development.
- Experience with concepts such as Retry patterns, Circuit breakers, Idempotency, Service discovery, API gateways.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline technologies such as Jenkins, Gitlab, or Github Actions.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices.
- Experience with reliability best practices, such as SLOs, incident response, observability engineering.
- Experience with cybersecurity practices, such as encryption at rest and in transit, secret management, CVE remediation, authentication/authorization, and PKI.
