Graduate Print Designer
Description
The Role
Step into the role of Graduate Print Designer.
Discover an exciting opportunity to launch your creative career right here at Joules Head Office, joining our vibrant Print team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
You will be right at the creative heart of our brand, helping develop unique hand-drawn prints, charming patterns, and seasonal artwork across womenswear, menswear, and kidswear. Working alongside our talented designers, you will help create pieces that balance our 1989 British heritage with a fresh, effortless energy, bringing colour and personality to our customers during their well-dressed time off. You will also have the rare opportunity to collaborate with our Founder, Tom Joule, and his senior leadership team, drawing on decades of brand knowledge as you develop your craft.
Working Pattern: This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract based onsite at The Barn, Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Our Location
Market Harborough in Leicestershire is where the Joules story began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, cosy pubs, and fantastic restaurants. It also benefits from great transport links to London, making it easily accessible for commuters and visitors alike. It is the perfect place to mix a rewarding creative career with plenty of well-dressed time off.
What You’ll Do
Our prints are legendary, defining who we are and bringing an unmistakable preppy British charm to everyday wardrobes. In this role, you will help translate seasonal concept briefs into beautiful, commercially savvy print stories that layer, mix, and play across multiple product categories.
You will be responsible for:
Creating original artwork: Support the design and development of seasonal prints and patterns across womenswear, menswear, and kidswear, balancing imaginative flair with commercial wearability
Interpreting the brief: Respond creatively to seasonal concept briefs, thinking outside the box to introduce fresh motifs, colourways, and repeat patterns that delight our customers
Collaborating across categories: Work cross-functionally with Design, Garment Technology, and Buying teams, ensuring prints translate seamlessly onto fabrics and finished garments
Researching trends: Keep a keen eye on emerging art, fashion, and lifestyle directions, interpreting contemporary movements through our signature heritage lens
Preparing technical artwork: Produce clean, production-ready print files, colour separations, and scale specifications for our global supplier base
Supporting the studio: Assist with organising print archives, swatch libraries, and visual presentation boards ahead of seasonal sign-offs
What You’ll Bring
To really shine in this role, you will bring an inventive eye, technical illustration skills, and a genuine passion for storytelling through print. You understand our preppy aesthetic, enjoy playing with unexpected colour combinations, and have an innate appreciation for craftsmanship and the small details that make a design special.
You are approachable, self-effacing, and always excited to roll up your sleeves with a friendly, fast-moving team.
We would also love to see:
A degree in Textile Design, Fashion Print, Graphic Design, or a related creative discipline
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with a portfolio showcasing strong drawing, repeat pattern, and colour work
An adaptable mindset, comfortable switching between delicate womenswear florals, playful kids' illustrations, and classic menswear checks
Commercial intuition, understanding how to balance boundary-pushing creativity with what our customer loves to wear
Great communication skills and a collaborative spirit, ready to share bold ideas and welcome feedback with open arms
Strong organisation habits and the resourcefulness to take initiative and make the role your own
A positive, energetic approach and genuine excitement for the future of Joules
