JOB TITLE: Gymnastics Recreation Coach

SUMMARY
Flip Over Gymnastics is seeking energetic, passionate people who can share their love of this sport with our community youth. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and share an amazing sport.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of gymnastics is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 16yrs or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available weekends
- Can successfully complete a background check
- Must have true passion for this sport and willingness to learn
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND REPONSIBILITES include the following:
- Collaboration and Compliance
- Work closely with children and parents to create a healthy learning environment
- Following all the rules of the facility and enforcing those rules with patrons
- Work closely with other coaches to have a positive work environment
- Equipment Set up and Monitoring
- Setting up obstacles/stations for every shift
- Adjusting equipment if needed for your class
- Knowledge, Skill Development, and Communication
- Break down skills/complex movements into clear, manageable steps using age appropriate language
- Understand athlete development using proper progressions
- Creating a positive, respectful environment by building confidence, patience, and adaptability
- Recreation Coach Specific (Ages 6+)
- Be flexible and adapt in a fast paced environment
- Work with ages 6 to 18 using age appropriate feedback, language, and repour
- Must be able to speak up and command the attention of an audience
- Toddler Coach Specific (Ages 18m to 5yrs)
- Communicate with parents effectively. You will have parents in your work space.
- Have patience and an understanding of young childhood development.
- Have a commanding presence to command attention from your classroom
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES, REQUIREMENTS, VISUAL ACUITY, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Working Conditions
- Gymnastics facilities are indoors and climate controlled
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to be on your feet for 4 to 5 consecutive hours
- Move mats and/or equipment weighing up to 50lbs
- Hands on spotting for most of or your entire shift
- Demonstrate stations if necessary
