About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Firmware Engineer with a strong background in motor control systems to join our drone development team. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining firmware for MCU-based motor drive platforms, including BLDC, PMSM motor types. This role sits at the intersection of power electronics and embedded software, requiring deep understanding of both hardware behavior and real-time software execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Design and implement motor control algorithms (FOC, SVPWM, sensorless/sensored control) on MCUs such as STM32, TI C2000, NXP S32, or equivalent
2. Develop low-level peripheral drivers: PWM, ADC, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, encoder interfaces
3. Tune current/speed/position control loops (PI/PID) to meet torque ripple, efficiency, and response requirements
4. Implement and validate startup sequences, stall detection, and overcurrent/overvoltage protection routines
Embedded Systems & MCU Programming
5. Write production-quality firmware in C (mandatory); C++ experience is a plus
6. Work with bare-metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, or similar)
7. Develop and maintain BSP (Board Support Package) for new hardware bring-up
8. Interface with gate drivers, power stage ICs, and analog front-end circuits
Verification & Validation
9. Create unit tests and integration test plans for firmware modules
10. Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers to debug hardware/firmware interaction
11. Collaborate with hardware engineers during PCB bring-up and motor drive validation
12. Perform HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing where applicable
Collaboration & Documentation
13. Work closely with hardware, mechanical, and application engineering teams
14. Maintain firmware documentation, version control (Git), and release notes
15. Participate in design reviews and contribute to architecture decisions
16. Support customer or field teams with technical escalations related to motor drive behavior
