Head of Global Credit Risk
You lead and scale the global Credit Risk team across multiple regions and oversee daily counterparty risk management for acquiring and financial products. You direct merchant monitoring, high-risk decisions, collections, and operational feedback into credit models, risk policies, and risk appetite while partnering with Product and Second Line Risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the global Credit Risk team
- Oversee monitoring and manual review of high-exposure merchants
- Act as the final operational escalation point for edge-case approvals
- Prepare high-risk merchant decisions for the Merchant Risk Committee
- Use operational data to influence credit models and risk policies
- Direct the global Collections function
- Partner with Product on risk tools
- Partner with Second Line Risk on operational governance
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in credit risk leadership within fintech, high-volume payments, or banking
- Deep practical understanding of credit risk management for financial products
- Experience with capital lending, commercial loans, or charge cards preferred
- Understanding of the merchant lifecycle, bankruptcy risk, lending, and underwriting
- Experience managing global or multi-region teams preferred
- Ability to translate complex credit risks into actionable proposals for executive committees
