Healthcare Assistant
Summary
Provide daily personal care and hygiene assistance to elderly residents in a care home, including bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Bathe residents and attend to their personal hygiene, brushing teeth, toilet etc.
2. Make and tidy beds.
3. Simple application of ointment/cream and simple dressing for residents.
4. Help to serve and feed the residents at mealtimes.
5. Sweep and mop the floor of residents’ rooms and dining hall after each meal.
6. Wash bathrooms, toilets, sinks and corridors.
7. Wash the sinks in the residents’ rooms.
8. Help the residents to bed at rest time and bedtime.
9. Empty rubbish, bedpans and urinals.
10. Accompany residents to hospitals and OPD.
11. Turning residents at night to change their sleeping positions.
12. Change diapers for residents who are incontinent.
13. Help residents to go to the toilet.
14. Clean windows and doors etc. - as scheduled.
15. Accompany residents on outings and special functions.
16. Lock “Entrance” & “Exit” gates as instructed by Nurse on-duty.
17. Female HAs - Assume Laundry duty in the absence of the Laundry Attendant.
18. Male HAs - Assume Kitchen helper duty in the absence of the Kitchen helper.
19. Monitor residents’ vital signs and report any abnormal readings to the nurses.
20. To perform any other tasks assigned by CNO and NOs.
Requirements:
- Minimum secondary education with Certificate in healthcare support
- Able to work 6 days per week on rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, and night), including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
