Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor

About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Serve as second level supervisor over maintenance production division comprised of leaders and workers in the repair, rebuild and modification of transmission, engines, electrical accessories, etc. for heavy combat and other heavy mobile equipment.

Plan, coordinate, and direct a variety of work operations or functions of subordinate employees with subordinate supervisors.

Prepare operating instructions and work schedules.

Develop performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.

Serve as a management representative at hearings, meetings and negotiations involving labor management relations.

Schedule work assignments on a 3 to 6 months basis for accomplishment by the employees supervised.

Review and analyze production, costs, and personnel utilization records of subordinates to evaluate work progress and to control or reduce costs; study continuing problems; and take or recommend necessary corrective action.
