Home Care Support Worker - East

When you join MercyCare, you become part of something bigger than a job. You join a community of people who show up for Western Australians at the moments that matter most - from early learning and disability support, to family, community and aged care services. We live by our values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice, excellence and courage, and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.
About the role
Every day is a little different. You’ll provide practical and personal support that helps older people stay independent, connected and confident at home. Whether you’re helping with daily tasks, preparing a meal, supporting a community outing or simply providing some company, you’ll play an important part in helping each person live life their way. We have one role covering Kalamunda/Perth Hills with a requirement for Mon, Tue and Wed availability (8am-3pm). We have another role covering Morley/North-East Perth with Mon-Fri availability (7am-3pm). There will be flexibility to travel to other areas across the East when needed to cover sick leave and annual leave.
About you
You’re a caring, reliable and people-focused person who enjoys making a difference in someone’s day. You’re comfortable working independently, can adapt to different people and situations, and understand that great care starts with listening, building trust and treating everyone with dignity and respect. Your key experience will include:

A Certificate III in Community Care, Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability or a related field
A genuine passion for supporting older people to live independently
Good communication and relationship-building skills
An understanding of safe work practices and the importance of reporting risks and concerns
Willingness to administer or prompt medications once appropriately trained and deemed competent
A current Driver’s Licence
Access to a roadworthy, WA-registered vehicle with at least comprehensive third-party insurance
