Our Purpose

Beyond HCM runs payroll, HR, and tax for locally owned businesses across Virginia and beyond. Our clients
are restaurants, HVAC shops, dental practices, contractors, and other growing businesses that want real
people, not a 1-800 number. We're expanding our HR Partner service and need an experienced HR Generalist
to serve as the dedicated HR resource for our clients with 50 or more employees

The Work That Matters

Locally owned businesses deserve HR guidance that’s clear, compliant, and human. As our Part-Time HR Generalist – HR Partner, you provide senior-level ownership of core HR support for a portfolio of established clients so they can hire well, manage risk, and keep teams moving forward.

Key responsibilities
- Serve as primary HR point of contact for assigned clients (typically 50+ employees)
- Advise on hiring, corrective action, terminations, and policy application
- Administer FMLA/leave processes end-to-end
- Draft and refresh handbooks, policies, job descriptions, and offer letters
- Support investigations and performance documentation
- Monitor compliance updates (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ACA; VA requirements) and escalate high-risk matters

Required qualifications
- 4+ years HR generalist experience with 50+ employee organizations
- Hands-on FMLA administration
- Strong employment law knowledge; SHRM/PHR preferred; multi-state a plus

Apply to bring practical, purpose-driven HR leadership to the businesses that rely on us.

How Your Days Flow

Your morning starts with a quick scan of client priorities—an open leave request, a manager coaching follow-up, a handbook edit that needs final language. You’ll move between focused work and real-time conversations with owners who want plain-English guidance.

Across the week, you’ll hold steady check-ins that surface issues early, partner with payroll to keep HR and pay aligned, and document decisions so clients stay audit-ready. Some afternoons are quiet, detail-heavy work; others shift fast when a workplace concern needs calm triage and a clear next step. You’ll know you’re succeeding when clients feel supported, informed, and confident—because you helped them do the right thing, the right way.

Total Rewards

- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
- 401(k)
- Life Insurance
- Paid Time Off
- Competitive salary ($32–$38/hour)
- Snack/Drink Room
- Employee Discounts

Candidate testing and a background check will be conducted before employment.
