About the Role

The HSE Manager will support the development, update and implementation of health, safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures. The role focuses on reducing accidental losses, protecting company assets, ensuring vendor, contractor and customer safety, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

The HSE Manager will also maintain and support the current ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 management system certifications, while acting as a resource and providing functional support to management, supervision and work personnel on matters relating to health, safety and environmental.

  • Ensure hazards and risks associated with work activities are identified, assessed and actions are implemented to eliminate or reduce them.
  • Compile, publish and communicate HSE statistics to management and personnel.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, documented, implemented and tested.
  • Implement and execute the HSE training plan for all facility personnel.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Lead risk assessments and ensure results are addressed as work is executed.
  • Develop specific safety procedures to address identified risks and challenges.
  • Follow up on incident investigations to ensure close-out and corrective actions are completed to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure incident investigation results are shared across the workforce.
  • Promote HSE-related lessons learned and the exchange of HSE information across the workforce to achieve higher HSE awareness.
  • Conduct routine site assessment audits with the management team.
  • Review and analyze monthly HSE statistics and trends to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys with the Corporate HSE Team and work with facilities to close out findings.
  • Ensure permits and certifications are maintained and kept up to date, including internal and external databases.
  • Ensure waste is properly classified, handled and stored in accordance with federal, state, local and NOV requirements.
  • Complete required environmental data collection and registration.

We are interested in someone who combines strong HSE expertise with practical leadership and the ability to influence others.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Relevant education in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in HSE, including proven experience leading people & HSE function.
  • Strong practical knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis and risk management.
  • Knowledge of applicable Danish HSE and environmental requirements.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across frontline operations, managers and senior leaders.
  • A practical approach to influencing safety culture and creating ownership for HSE beyond the HSE team.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively through ambiguity, change and competing priorities.
  • The confidence to challenge when necessary while remaining collaborative and diplomatic.
  • A strong sense of ownership, follow-through and accountability.
  • Fluency in Danish and English.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and their hazards.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
