HSE Officer (WSHO / CAG Project)

Job Scope

  • Carry out the duties of a WSHO as outlined in legislation and regulations.
  • Ensure all statutory acts, regulations, company safety rules, and codes of practice are implemented and complied with by all staff.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the workforce on workplace safety practices.
  • Implement and oversee the project-specific HSE management system and programs in alignment with corporate procedures.
  • Support company and project initiatives to achieve HSE-related awards and certifications.
  • Perform site safety audits, inspections, & compliance checks.
  • Identify and address gaps in WSH/Environmental systems, procedures, and performance, recommending improvements.
  • Develop and implement the Safety Program.
  • Review and evaluate WSH Management System (WSHMS) and Environmental reports.
  • Conduct safety meetings, briefings, and training for stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with project team to maintain a high level of safety, health and environmental standard.
  • Liaise with authorities on occupational safety, health, and environmental matters.
  • Advise Project Director/Manager on WSH issues and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate site environmental, health, and safety records and reports while ensuring timely submission.
  • Review internal and external risk assessments and risk management processes.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and following up on implementation.
  • Ensure all Permit-to-Work (PTW) supporting documents are valid and in place.
  • Prepare and submit the Site Environmental Control Program before work commences.
  • Organize and coordinate tabletop exercises, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan drills, and ensure the maintenance of emergency response equipment.
  • Prepare and present detailed data analytics reports on WSH performance, conditions, and practices.
  • Perform any other ad hoc HSE-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirement

  • Diploma / Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience in construction industry.
