Description

Part-Time HR Coordinator

Rodeo Cannabis Co. | Sterling, CT (Manufacturing Facility)

About Us

Rodeo Cannabis Co. is a vertically integrated, Social Equity-licensed cannabis operator based in Connecticut. Our cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations employ more than 60 team members across the state. Our Sterling facility is the center of our manufacturing operations. We're looking for an organized, people-focused HR professional to support the team there and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.

The Role

The Part-Time HR Coordinator is the on-site HR lead at our Sterling facility. This person is responsible for attendance and punctuality, performance reviews, and overall compliance. You will also be cross trained on our cannabis branding procedures so you can back up the product approval process. You will work closely with facility leadership and the VP of Operations to hold employees to clear, consistent standards and keep a regulated production environment audit ready. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes structure, is comfortable having direct conversations, and can handle sensitive matters fairly and with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping daily to identify absences, tardiness, early departures, and no-call/no-shows
  • Enforce the attendance policy consistently across all shifts and employees
  • Meet with employees about attendance and tardiness issues, and issue verbal warnings, written warnings, and further corrective action under our progressive discipline policy
  • Keep accurate documentation of every attendance incident and corrective action

Performance Management

  • Own the performance review process, including scheduling reviews, preparing forms, and making sure reviews are completed on time
  • Work with supervisors to document performance concerns and build improvement plans
  • Run or take part in performance and disciplinary meetings, and track follow-up through resolution
  • Recommend next steps to leadership when performance issues are not corrected

Compliance

  • Keep every employee compliant with CT DCP requirements, including registrations, renewals, badging, and required training
  • Maintain OSHA documentation, incident reports, and safety training records
  • Keep personnel files, policy acknowledgments, and required postings complete and audit-ready
  • Make sure employment practices follow Connecticut and federal employment law

Cannabis Branding Cross-Training

  • Get cross-trained on the facility's cannabis branding procedures, including product approval for new products made at Sterling
  • Support the Cannabis Branding Agent with preparing, reviewing, and tracking product branding and labeling submissions
  • Provide backup coverage for branding tasks when the Branding Agent is unavailable, so product approvals stay on schedule
  • Keep branding and approval records organized, accurate, and audit-ready

Day-to-Day HR Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions about policies and procedures
  • Support payroll by reviewing timecards and submitting corrections on time
  • Bring employee concerns to leadership and help resolve them professionally and promptly

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR, HR coordinator, or HR generalist experience (manufacturing or another regulated industry preferred)
  • Experience administering progressive discipline and conducting corrective action and performance conversations
  • Working knowledge of Connecticut and federal employment law basics
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with regulatory documentation
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Comfortable with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems and with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Clear, professional communicator who builds trust with frontline staff and leadership
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must obtain a CT DCP cannabis employee registration

Preferred: Cannabis industry experience; experience with product labeling, packaging compliance, or regulatory submissions; PHR or SHRM-CP certification; bilingual in English and Spanish.

Why Join Us

  • Flexible schedule with consistent weekday hours
  • Cross-training in cannabis branding and regulatory processes, a skill set that's valuable in Connecticut's growing market
  • Opportunity to shape HR practices at a growing, multi-facility company
  • Employee discount
  • Be part of a Social Equity-licensed business that is building Connecticut's cannabis industry
