General Responsibilities\:
The Human Resources Partner Generalist Senior independently manages and provides strategic human resources services to employees within assigned clinical departments, supporting distinct employee populations across the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and UAB Health Services Foundation (HSF). Serves as the primary HR advisor and point of contact for department leadership, faculty, staff, fellows, residents, post-doctoral trainees, and other personnel on a broad range of human resources matters. Partners with department and organizational leadership to assess workforce needs, develop and implement HR strategies and practices, and support organizational and institutional objectives. Serves as a liaison to the Office of Human Resources, Dean's Office, and other UAB-affiliated HR entities and may provide guidance, mentorship, and task direction to HR support staff. Serves as a trusted HR resource and advisor to clinical leadership, providing consultative support on complex employment, hiring, compensation, organizational, and workforce matters.

Key Duties & Responsibilities\:
1. Manages human resources services for employees within a large, complex division(s), department(s), college, or school.
2. Provides strategic HR advisement for the assigned area and serves as primary contact for all HR related matters in the areas of employment, compensation, employee relations, international recruitment, and retention.
3. May work with other UAB-affiliated HR entities.
4. May supervise, mentor, and/or assign tasks to lower-level HR support staff.
5. Serves as the liaison to the Office of Human Resources and/or the Dean's office for all academic and non-academic human resources-related matters.
6. Interprets, implements, and ensures compliance with HR policies, procedures, and programs.
7. May plan, strategize, and advise faculty, staff, fellows, residents, post-docs, and international personnel in key areas such as recruitment, hiring, compensation, termination, etc.
8. Serves as a key team member in assisting with the development and implementation of departmental, college, and/or school-wide HR policies and practices within the guidelines provided by the institution in an effort to strategically advance institutional missions.
9. Serves as a resource/advisor to organizational leadership with guidance from the Office of Human Resources and/or the Dean's office.
10. Partners with employees, supervisors, and managers to communicate various human resources programs, policies, procedures, and practices, as well as updates in federal and state regulations.
11. Advises supervisors and managers on employee relations issues to resolve concerns and to provide a course of action or appropriate decisions.
12. Provides guidance, with input from the Office of Human Resources, on performance issues and corrective counseling as needed.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range\: $52,555 – $85,400
