Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist supports daily HR operations and serves as an accessible resource for employees and leaders. The role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, employee records, payroll and benefits support, employee relations, safety coordination, and HR compliance. The primary schedule is Monday-Friday, with flexibility required to support multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, application screening, interviews, background checks, offers, and pre-employment processes.
- Partner with hiring leaders to understand staffing needs and maintain accurate job descriptions and selection criteria.
- Process new-hire paperwork and conduct onboarding and orientation.
- Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on HR policies, payroll, benefits, and workplace procedures.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential employee records in HR information systems.
- Support employee relations, performance management, engagement activities, and policy administration.
- Assist with payroll, benefits administration, leave documentation, and HR reporting.
- Coordinate safety communications, training records, action plans, and injury-prevention activities in partnership with HR and operations leaders.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment and workplace safety requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related education preferred.
- At least one year of human resources, recruiting, payroll, benefits, or related administrative experience.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with an HR information system (HRIS), applicant tracking system (ATS), or other HR software preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace preferred.
