Hydrogeologist
Hydrogeological Assessment & Modelling
- Develop conceptual and numerical groundwater models (MODFLOW, FEFLOW).
- Characterize aquifer parameters, recharge, seepage, and groundwater–surface water interaction.
- Support contaminated sites assessments including fate and transport, plume delineation, risk evaluations and remediation.
- Support hydrogeological components of Environmental Impact Assessments (CEAA, provincial EAs).
- Prepare permit and licensing submissions for water wells, water takings, dewatering, and groundwater protection under provincial regulations (MECP, AEP, BCEAA, etc.).
- Support infrastructure, mining, renewable energy, water supply, and land development projects.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports, groundwater monitoring summaries, and modelling documentation.
- Create maps, cross-sections, and figures using ArcGIS/QGIS
- Present findings to senior technical reviewers, clients, and regulatory stakeholders.
Education & Experience
- M.Sc. in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field (preferred). Working knowledge with International codes is a must.
- 3–10+ years relevant Canadian or international experience in hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, or environmental projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MODFLOW, FEFLOW, AQTESOLV, HydroGeo, Analyst, and GIS tools.
- Strong understanding of Hydrogeology, Glacial geology, and fractured bedrock systems.
- Excellent data interpretation, report writing, and technical communication skills.
