Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IBMi Strategic Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor for our strategic IBM i clients across the US. This client-facing role involves working closely with customer technology teams, understanding their IBM i landscape, driving modernization initiatives, and providing architectural guidance to offshore delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with client technology leaders and stakeholders.
- Assess IBM i environments and recommend modernization, integration, and optimization strategies.
- Provide architectural leadership across RPG, COBOL, DB2, APIs, DevOps, security, and performance initiatives.
- Translate client requirements into technical direction for offshore teams.
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical discovery sessions, and solution workshops.
- Mentor IBM i architects, technical leads, and developers.
- Identify opportunities to expand strategic client engagements and deliver additional value.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in IBM i / AS400 architecture
- RPG, RPGLE, ILE RPG, Free-Format RPG
- DB2 for i / SQL, CL/CLLE
- IBM i modernization and integration strategies
- REST APIs, cloud integration, DevOps, and CI/CD concepts
- Application architecture, performance, security, and dependency analysis
- Strong client-facing, consulting, and stakeholder management skills
