ICT Business Analyst – Digital Transformation
Summary
The ICT Business Analyst will bridge the gap between complex industrial automation engineering solutions (IoT, HVAC, Mining) and strategic business outcomes. The role involves defining requirements, building business cases, and managing stakeholders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
Salary: $100k base salary + super + company car
- Business & Impact Analysis: Lead quantitative and qualitative business analysis, including the ability to identify complex technical requirements and assess the operational impact of digital transformation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with diverse external and internal stakeholders—ranging from engineering teams and R&D specialists to executive leadership—to achieve assigned objectives.
- Technical Communication: Leverage advanced communication skills to craft high-level reports, research summaries, and presentations that translate complex engineering and IoT concepts into easily digestible formats for non-technical audiences.
- Relationship Management: Develop new and expand existing relationships with customers, technology partners, technical specialists, and other key stakeholders.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure the successful delivery of endorsed digital projects, smart products, and services.
- Business Case Development: Support all market specifically HVAC/ BMS, Mining, Water, Chemical, Oil & Gas and other key capability sectors in Australia with the development of robust business cases, rigorous requirement definitions, phased implementation plans, and digital delivery roadmaps.
- Solution Alignment: Support solution development and delivery teams to ensure customer challenges are well-defined, leveraging data to ensure anticipated value and benefits are realized.
- Value Measurement: Measure the outcomes, ROI, and value of digitalisation initiatives using data-driven methodologies and analytical modeling to create sustainable business value.
- Technology Strategy: Maintain deep awareness of cutting-edge digital technologies (e.g., advanced IoT, Edge computing, sensor networks). Identify and evaluate research-backed opportunities that may be piloted to inform future business direction.
- Operational Roll-out: Assist with the planning and operational roll-out of digital initiatives,ensuring alignment with specific business segments and global digital strategies.
- Education: Tertiary qualification in ICT, Software or another relevant Engineering field.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Relevant industry experience of minimum 10 years from industrial automation, IoT sensing technology combining deep technical expertise, relationship management, and the ability to transition engineering concepts into business solutions.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including mastery of English grammar. Proven track record of authoring complex technical documents, impact analyses, or research reports.
- Customer Engagement: Demonstrated customer engagement skills, including advanced written and verbal communication to effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
- IoT Architecture: Strong experience architecting and analysing IoT solutions—from hardware/sensor networks and Edge devices through to Cloud integration and IoT device management.
- Cloud Ecosystems: Experience with or strong knowledge of cloud-based platforms and data analytics technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) will be highly advantageous.
