As we handle thousands of financial transactions daily, data security and system integrity are at the core of everything we do.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven ICT Project Manager to lead and coordinate the delivery of our software development and technology infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising ICT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. You will coordinate cross-functional teams — including software developers, hardware technicians, and external vendors — to ensure the successful deployment of our POS systems, cloud platforms, and payment integrations for our clients across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution
1.1 Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and risk management strategies for ICT projects.
1.2 Lead the end-to-end execution of software and hardware deployment projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and client expectations.

2. Team Leadership & Resource Management
2.1 Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure flawless execution of projects, managing cross-functional teams of developers and technicians.
2.2 Allocate resources effectively, balancing project demands with operational capacity to maximise productivity and efficiency.

3. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
3.1 Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing regular project updates, progress reports, and risk assessments.
3.2 Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and non-technical clients, translating complex technical requirements into clear business terms.

4. Budget & Risk Management
4.1 Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial constraints.
4.2 Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential delays or technical challenges.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
5.1 Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with relevant industry regulations, including payment security standards.
5.2 Conduct post-project evaluations and create comprehensive documentation to support future project planning and continuous improvement.

6. Technology Integration & Vendor Management
6.1 Oversee the integration of software systems, EFTPOS terminals, and third-party APIs, ensuring seamless operational functionality for clients.
6.2 Manage relationships with external hardware suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of project components.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.

2. If the above qualification is not met, a minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in ICT project management is required.

3. Proven experience managing software development or IT infrastructure projects, ideally within the retail, hospitality, or payment technology sectors.

4. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).

5. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical and operational issues.

7. Solid understanding of cloud technologies, payment gateways, and POS systems is highly advantageous.

8. Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly regarded.
