INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (DISCLOSURE)

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and executing multiple security programs designed primarily to protect national security against multiple threats such as unauthorized disclosure of classified information to foreign governments, unauthorized release of Classified Military Information (CMI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and espionage.

As a INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (DISCLOSURE) at the GS-0080-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the status of the Component programs at all Joint Staff locations. Receiving, analyzing, and responding to all actions and requests for foreign disclosure sent to the Joint Staff. Coordinating with Foreign Disclosure Officers at Combatant Commands and Military Services to ensure consistency of policy application and development of improvements or enhancements to foreign disclosure practices and procedures. Providing expert advice to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Directors, Vice Directors, and Joint Staff personnel regarding National Disclosure Policy requirements. Conducting special studies, research and evaluations such as business case analysis, cost/benefit analysis and risk analysis to improve policies and techniques in order to gain cost efficiencies and increased operational effectiveness of Joint Staff Foreign Disclosure and Foreign Visits.
