Infrastructure Engineer (VPN Application)
Summary
Infrastructure Engineer managing VPN application's network data plane, egress, and control plane, using technologies like WireGuard, nftables, and Postgres. Core technologies: Linux networking, VPN, ISP, residential proxy environments.

For more than 10 years, we've been building apps in the Health & Wellness, AI Chats & Tools, and Utilities categories, reaching millions of users worldwide.
We're currently scaling the team behind our VPN Application and looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (project-based, part-time).
Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain the network data plane: WireGuard, kernel routing, nftables/tproxy, ipset, CoreDNS
- Set up egress through SOCKS5 proxies (ISP/residential)
- Develop the control plane: IP manager, VPN config management, IP allocation, state machine, prober service
- Integrate with Postgres, Slack, and CLI tools
- Handle deployment, monitoring, alerting, and 24/7 node operations
Requirements:
- Solid command of Linux networking: routing, netfilter/nftables, WireGuard, tunnels
- Understanding of operations: deployment, monitoring, system reliability
- Hands-on experience with egress/routing and policy routing/tproxy
- Background in VPN, ISP, or residential proxy environments
