We are looking for an experienced and practical Infrastructure Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, you'll be responsible for the support and maintenance of Seeley International's infrastructure, whether on-premises or hosted. You'll work with virtualised environments, backups, telecommunications and cybersecurity controls, and act as the L2/L3 escalation point for the IT Systems Analyst, providing L1 helpdesk coverage when required.
You'll also be involved in a number of project implementation tasks and share a monthly on-call roster with the rest of the technical IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support both on-premises and cloud-hosted server environments, including telephony systems.
- Check and confirm backups are working correctly and manage tape rotation regularly.
- Perform test restores to ensure data recovery works in line with industry cybersecurity guidelines, supporting disaster recovery processes.
- Assist in building, modifying or removing server environments as needed, applying patches and firmware updates in line with cybersecurity frameworks.
- Support the implementation of cybersecurity controls and monitoring tools and assist with regular security reviews.
- Participate in testing and updating Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
- Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for the IT Systems Analyst, identifying root causes of recurring issues and implementing permanent fixes.
- Provide L1 helpdesk coverage during leave or periods of high demand and assist with desktop and network infrastructure setup.
- Work with vendors to support national and international telecommunications and assist in monitoring network security and redundancy.
- Assist with infrastructure-related IT projects and uplift initiatives aligned with cybersecurity frameworks and Industry 4.0 improvements.
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to the IT Systems Analyst and other junior technical staff.
About You
You'll bring strong practical knowledge of infrastructure, cybersecurity and end-user technology, and enjoy working across a busy manufacturing environment to keep systems reliable and secure.
You'll also bring:
- 3+ years' experience in a systems administrator role within a similarly sized environment.
- Experience providing L2/L3 escalation support and resolving issues passed up from a helpdesk function, including root-cause analysis of recurring problems.
- Solid working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Entra ID, including group policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Practical experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, including building, maintaining and troubleshooting virtual environments.
- Hands-on experience with server and networking hardware, particularly HP, Cisco, Fortinet and Dell (compute and storage).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and principles, such as the Essential Eight, NIST or ISO 27001.
- Experience using and managing backup software, such as Veeam.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools, including Office 365, AWS and Azure.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to work independently, managing time and tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience working as part of a project team on infrastructure or systems implementations.
Desirable Skills
- Industry-recognized certifications or tertiary-level qualifications in IT or a related field.
- Formal cybersecurity certification or training; demonstrated experience applying frameworks such as the Essential Eight will also be considered.
- Certifications in Microsoft and/or VMware technologies.
- Certification or formal training in Office 365 and cloud-based services.
