Intake Coordinator

What You Will Do:

  • Engage individuals in obtaining answers to intake and medication-related questions in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Navigate intake and medication databases with proficiency, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.
  • Accurately verify individuals served insurance and collect payments/copayments, ensuring they are received and recorded in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Effectively communicate admission-related information and expectations to individuals served.
  • Schedule new individuals served for intake appointments at the time of referral and/or schedule follow-up medication appointments for existing individuals.
  • Communicate with referral sources and program staff in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Assist individuals and/or community providers in determining the proper referrals and/or resources needed.
  • Prepare paperwork related to services in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Communicate with other agencies to share program openings and facilitate appropriate admissions.
  • Provide triage, support, information, and referrals to individuals who call BHN Crisis, identifying when calls require transfer to BHN Crisis or law enforcement due to safety or risk concerns.
  • Aid in non-clinical communication between individuals served and collateral contacts as needed.

Who You Are:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience required.
  • Call center or intake experience preferred.
  • Experience verifying insurances preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders and treatment, including severe mental illness, required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including email and database systems.
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about BHN Substance Use programs, other BHN programs, and community resources.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse individual populations.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence in working with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Pay Range: $21.50-$23.00/hr
