The Role

We’re currently looking for an Integration Developer to join our Technology team based in Christchurch or Invercargill. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of integration and software solutions that connect systems, enable business outcomes, and support innovation across our organisation.

You will design, build, deploy and support integrations, and APIs across cloud and on-premises environments. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors to deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions that support Alliance's business objectives.

This role offers plenty of variety and autonomy, with opportunities to contribute to technical strategy, improve delivery processes, and leverage emerging technologies to create value across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and supporting integrations, APIs and related services

  • Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions

  • Implementing automated testing, deployment and monitoring processes

  • Troubleshooting incidents and delivering sustainable solutions

  • Managing data mappings, authentication, security and service reliability

  • Collaborating with developers, analysts, architects and business stakeholders

  • Contributing to continuous improvement and modern development practices

  • Maintaining technical documentation and supporting knowledge sharing activities

About You

You are a motivated and technically capable developer who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering high-quality outcomes. You bring a collaborative approach and can confidently work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise integrations, APIs and web services

  • Strong programming and scripting skills with a focus on clean, maintainable code

  • Knowledge of REST, JSON, XML, SQL and integration security principles

  • Experience with AWS services including CloudFormation, Lambda and API Gateway

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps practices

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in an agile environment

Ideally, you'll also have experience with Node.js, React, Snowflake, Docker or AWS ECS, although these are not essential.

Please note that we are only considering candidates who currently reside in New Zealand and are currently eligible to work in New Zealand.
