We're looking for a Data Analyst who enjoys diving into technical detail, untangling complex datasets, and building meaningful data models. Join a crucial Crown agency as it modernises its data landscape, helping drive the migration from a legacy SQL Server data warehouse to a modern data platform.About the role:
You will investigate and reverse-engineer the existing SQL environment, document current data structures and models, and translate these findings into clear requirements for the development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and unpack legacy SQL Server data warehouse
- Reverse-engineer existing data structures, models and relationships
- Produce clear technical documentation for the migration
- Develop data models and data-flow diagrams
- Translate legacy functionality and business requirements for data developers
- Communicate technical findings to developers, testers, product owners and other stakeholders
- Support the first delivery phase of the Modern Data Platform
- Contribute across both project work and business-as-usual activities
- Assist elsewhere within the team when priorities require it
The right candidate will need…
- Large data migration project experience from SQL
- Data modelling experience
- Experience developing data flow diagrams
- Technical documentation skills
