Summary
An intermediate full-stack developer who builds and maintains internal web applications supporting Staff Domain's own business operations, working across PostgreSQL, Node.js/Express/NestJS backends, and React frontends. The role emphasizes AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot) and is onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City.

The Intermediate Web Developer will build, improve, and maintain internal web applications that support our business operations. You'll work across the full development lifecycle, from database design and backend services to frontend interfaces, turning business requirements into functional, reliable software.
This isn't just a role where you'll be handed a list of tickets and expected to code. You'll work directly with internal teams to understand their processes, identify problems worth solving, and develop practical solutions that make everyday work easier and more efficient.
We also embrace AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate software development. You don't need to write every line of code from scratch, but you must understand the code you're working with, validate AI-generated output, troubleshoot issues, and take responsibility for the quality of what you deliver.
We're looking for someone with strong development fundamentals, a practical problem-solving mindset, and the confidence to figure things out independently. What You'll Do
You'll be the kind of person who:
Full-Stack Application Development
- Build, enhance, and maintain internal web applications across the database, backend, and frontend layers.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces using React or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Build backend services and application logic using Node.js, Express, NestJS, or similar frameworks.
- Translate business requirements into functional software that addresses real operational needs.
- Improve existing features and contribute to the ongoing development of our internal platform.
AI-Assisted Development
- Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development and improve productivity.
- Review, understand, test, and validate AI-generated code before incorporating it into applications.
- Identify incorrect assumptions, potential bugs, security concerns, and inefficient implementations in generated code.
- Use AI tools to support debugging, code improvement, documentation, and technical problem-solving.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to ensure that development speed does not compromise code quality, reliability, or maintainability.
Backend Development & API Integration
- Develop and maintain backend services, application logic, and REST APIs.
- Integrate external platforms, APIs, and third-party services into internal applications.
- Implement appropriate error handling, data validation, and integration logic to ensure reliable application behaviour.
- Troubleshoot API issues and resolve problems involving data exchange between systems.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of reusable backend components and services.
Database Management & Development
- Work with PostgreSQL and other structured databases to design and maintain data structures.
- Write, optimise, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support application functionality and reporting requirements.
- Manage database changes, including schema updates and data migrations.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and appropriate handling of application data.
- Identify and address database-related performance issues as applications evolve.
Debugging, Testing & Code Quality
- Investigate and resolve bugs, technical issues, and unexpected application behaviour.
- Improve existing code to enhance readability, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
- Test features and validate changes before deployment to minimise disruptions.
- Document important technical decisions, implementation details, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with other developers through Git, version control, and code reviews.
- Help maintain consistent development standards and best practices across the internal platform.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work directly with internal teams to understand business processes, pain points, and technical requirements.
- Translate operational challenges into practical software solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts and implementation considerations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing applications, automate manual tasks, and streamline workflows.
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables from initial requirements through development, testing, and ongoing improvement.
Requirements
What You Bring
We're looking for someone with:
- At least 2 years of experience in software development, preferably building and maintaining web applications.
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript programming skills.
- Experience building backend services using Node.js, Express, NestJS, or similar frameworks.
- Experience developing frontend applications using React or another modern frontend framework.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with experience using other structured databases also considered.
- Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating external platforms or services.
- Familiarity with Git, version control, and working with existing codebases.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.
- Ability to review and validate AI-generated code rather than relying on generated output without understanding it.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
- Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables and follow through on implementation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, explore unfamiliar codebases, and adapt to evolving development requirements.
You don't need to know every technology in our stack. We value strong engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving, sound technical judgement, and the ability to learn quickly. What matters most is your ability to build working software, understand the code you ship, and take responsibility for the solutions you deliver.
Nice to Have
- Experience building internal tools, dashboards, CRMs, or other business applications.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, authentication, and role-based access control.
- Familiarity with automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications on cloud platforms.
- Experience integrating business systems such as HubSpot, Zoho, or Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with application security, performance optimisation, and software development best practices.
