Job Description Summary

The GE Vernova Gas Power Heavy-Duty New Units (HDNU) delivers complex new power plant projects around the world. Project management sits at the centre of value creation for its customers by managing safety, quality, delivery, and cost through cross-functional collaboration during project execution.
Within the Project Centre of Excellence (PCOE), the Cost Management Intern will support the HDNU cost analyst team in advancing AI initiatives to strengthen cost management across project execution. Working closely with cost analysts, AI experts and operational leaders across the Project CoE organization, the intern will gain hands-on experience in applying AI and digital tools to real business challenges.
This role is designed for individuals with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and analytics, who wants to build practical experience at the intersection of project management, digital transformation, and large-scale energy projects. The intern will contribute to ongoing initiatives while also taking ownership of selected smaller-scale solutions, supporting the implementation and adoption of AI-enabled tools that improve decision-making, risk visibility, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support multiple AI transformation initiatives by tracking actions, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables

• Develop structured materials such as project plans, process maps, and implementation roadmaps to support execution

• Contribute to the development and improvement of AI tools within GEV AI ecosystem to support the Cost Analyst AI roadmap execution

• Prepare and execute small-scale proof-of-concept initiatives, applying AI tools and techniques to solve practical business problems

• Assist in identifying, structuring, and evaluating AI use cases, including assessing value, feasibility, and scalability

• Support the development and deployment of AI-enabled tools and workflows, including intake processes, automation, and decision-support solutions

• Help drive adoption of AI solutions across the team by supporting communication, user guidance, and day-to-day enablement

• Support cost analysts in project execution by performing functional cost analysis (procurement, sourcing, engineering, ...)

• Support the preparation of materials for leadership reviews, workshops, and working sessions

Qualifications

• Completed a Bachelor and/or currently pursuing/completed a Master degree in:

  • Data Science / Artificial Intelligence
  • Engineering
  • Supply Chain / Business / Project Management
  • or a related field

• Exposure to or experience with:

  • Artificial intelligence tools and concepts (e.g., prompt engineering, language models, automation tools, AI workflows)
  • Data analysis or data science fundamentals
  • Digital tools and platforms supporting analytics or process improvement
  • Finance / Business

• Experience or familiarity with:

  • Excel (mandatory), PowerPoint, PowerBI, Power Query
  • Data visualization or analytics tools (preferred)
  • Python or similar programming language – strong advantage

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Fluency in English
