IntraOp Neurological Monitoring Tech - Full Time

The Intraoperative Monitoring (IONM) Technologist works in surgical settings to help protect a patient's nervous system during operations.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a IntraOp Neurological Monitoring Tech at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Set up and operate monitoring equipment (EEG, EMG, SSEP, MEP, BAEP, etc.) used to track neural activity during surgery.
- Prepare and position patients and apply electrodes according to surgical protocols.
- Continuously monitor neurophysiological signals in real time throughout surgical procedures.
- Alert surgeons and anesthesiologists immediately to any changes that could indicate nerve compromise or risk of neurological injury.
- Document and interpret data to help guide surgical decisions and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with OR teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in intraoperative monitoring.
- Experience in Electroencephalography, Electromyography, Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Motor Evoked Potentials and Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials.
- Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and ability to communicate clearly under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Formal training in neuromonitoring, neurodiagnostics, or a related biomedical field.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- CNIM (Certified Neurological Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist).
