Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Investment Banking Associate to join our team in Tokyo, focusing on executing transactions in Japan. The successful candidate will play a critical role in executing M&A deals, capital raising activities, and providing strategic advice to clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions, equity and debt offerings, and other financial advisory services in Japan.
  • Conduct industry research, financial analysis, and valuation assessments to assist in client pitches and transaction processes.
  • Prepare detailed financial models, pitch books, and presentation materials for client meetings and transactions.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, manage data rooms, and liaise with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure deal execution is seamless.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm's presence in the region.
  • Assist in mentoring and training junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior bankers
  • Fluency in English is a must
