Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to support a global macro strategy, including emerging markets. The successful candidate will have a background in strategic investments and corporate finance transactions and analysis across a range of industries in Asia. They will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, building valuation models, performing market research and assisting in transaction execution from origination through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis and valuation of companies using methodologies including DCF, CCA, PTA and other relevant valuation techniques.
  • Build, maintain and enhance complex financial models to evaluate business performance, forecast financial results and assess investment returns.
  • Analyse financial statements, operating performance, revenue drivers, margins and cash flow projections to support investment recommendations.
  • Perform industry and market research to identify market trends, growth opportunities, key risks and competitive positioning.
  • Prepare investment memoranda,, teasers, management presentations and other marketing materials for investors.
  • Assist in capital raising and strategic portfolio construction.
  • Coordinate with investors, management teams and external advisors, including legal, accounting, commercial and technical consultants. .
  • Perform scenario, sensitivity and risk analyses to evaluate investment assumptions.
  • Analyse sector-specific operating metrics and key performance indicators across industries such as consumer, real estate, natural resources and infrastructure.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in an international investment bank based in Hong Kong or Singapore: corporate finance, transaction advisory, private equity, investment management or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles, financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting and investment analysis using Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools (Stata, EViews, SPSS).
  • Proficiency in AI Tools (Bloomberg, Capital IQ) with experience preparing investment presentations.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritise tasks effectively and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients and external advisors.
  • Native, written and spoken Mandarin and fluent business English.
