Climate Collective Foundation is a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to supporting climate tech startups. We
work within the climate ecosystem to foster innovation by
connecting startups with funding, investors, education, and
accelerator programs. Our remote team of 35+ members operates
collaboratively to drive impactful, sustainable solutions for
climate-related challenges.
About the Role
We
are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Investment Research
Associate with at least 4 years of experience to join our team in
Chennai, deputed at the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management
Corporation (TNIFMC) office in Raja Annamalai Puram. This role
demands a dynamic individual with strong analytical,
communication, and writing skills, capable of translating complex
insights into accessible, engaging content across various formats,
including reports, presentations, articles, infographics, and
digital content. Candidates with experience working with startup
investors in climate tech or related sectors are strongly
preferred. Working knowledge of Tamil is an advantage.
Requirements
Core Expertise Required

Research Proficiency
: Expertise in
conducting literature reviews, primary and secondary
research, including qualitative market analysis,
particularly in startup ecosystems.

Ability to synthesize research findings and produce rapid,
accurate analyses

Climate Tech Knowledge
:
Deep understanding of climate tech markets, startup investment
trends, and related regulatory or technological landscapes.

Project Management
:
Strong skills in managing timelines, deliverables, and
cross-functional coordination between central teams and clients.

Communication and Writing
:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to distill
complex insights into clear, engaging, and accessible content
across formats (reports, presentations, articles,
infographics, digital content).

Relationship Management
:
Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships
with clients, especially while deputed to client sites.

Content Development
:
Proficiency in creating compelling, multi-format content
tailored to diverse audiences, including internal teams,
limited partners (LPs), and external stakeholders.

Attention to Detail
:
Precision in data analysis, content creation, and reporting to
ensure high-quality deliverables.

Language Skills
:
Working knowledge of Tamil will be an added advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct
comprehensive research to develop investment theses, using
financial modeling, market analysis, and competitive
benchmarking; and focusing on specific sectors - Energy
transition; Circular economy; Sustainable mobility; Agri
/Food /Waste; Affordable housing

Synthesize complex
research into clear, engaging, and actionable insights across
multiple formats, including reports, presentations, articles,
infographics, and digital content.

Present research
findings and investment recommendations to client in a concise
and compelling manner.

Manage project
timelines and deliverables, ensuring seamless coordination
between the central team and the client.

Serve as the
primary liaison at the TNIFMC client site, facilitating
communication, addressing client needs, and ensuring alignment
on project objectives.

Collaborate with
internal teams to ensure consistency and quality in research
outputs and client deliverables.

Stay updated on
climate tech trends, startup investment strategies, and market
dynamics to inform research and recommendations.

Ensure all content
and deliverables meet high standards of accuracy, clarity, and engagement.
Qualifications

Education
: Master's degree
in
Finance,
Economics, Business, Environmental Studies
or a related field.

Experience
: Minimum of 4
years of experience in investment research, or a related
role, with a strong preference for experience working with
startup investors in climate tech or adjacent sectors.

Technical Skills
: Proficiency in
data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, or R, or similar), and
content creation/data visualisation software (e.g.,
PowerPoint, or Canva for presentations and infographics).
