iOS Developer: Consumer App UI Build & Release

Contract: 3 months (initial)

Location: London, hybrid (3 days onsite)

Start: ASAP

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced iOS developer with a strong product UI background to build the front end of a new consumer app for a wealth management company. The back end is in place, so this is a hands-on role focused on creating a beautiful, intuitive iOS experience in Swift and taking it through to App Store release.

This role is all about how the app looks and feels. We want someone who has worked in design-led product teams, cares about every detail of the user experience, and has built consumer apps people love to use. Financial services experience isn’t required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building the iOS front end in Swift and SwiftUI, from an early stage through to launch
  • Working closely with designers to turn designs into polished, pixel-perfect user interfaces
  • Creating smooth animations, transitions and interactions that make the app a pleasure to use
  • Setting up reusable UI components and a consistent design system
  • Integrating the app with existing back-end APIs
  • Owning the release process, from TestFlight through to App Store submission

What we’re looking for

  • Strong commercial experience building consumer-facing iOS apps with a focus on polished UI
  • Experience in design-led product teams, such as product companies, digital agencies or consumer brands
  • A strong eye for design, with experience in animations, transitions and detailed UI work
  • Proven experience with app releases: App Store submissions, TestFlight and App Store review
  • Expert knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI (UIKit experience is a plus)
  • Experience building apps from early stages, not only maintaining existing codebases
  • Good understanding of accessibility (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type)
  • Comfortable working onsite and collaborating closely with designers and product teams

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, investing or banking apps (not essential)
  • Experience building design systems or reusable UI component libraries
  • Release automation experience (e.g. Fastlane, Bitrise, Xcode Cloud)
