iPhone Analog Design Engineer

Summary

Designs and integrates analog function blocks (power, audio, sensors, battery management) for future iPhone hardware, collaborating with hardware/software teams and vendors to ensure high-volume, low-power performance.

The iPhone Division is seeking an enthusiastic Analog Design Engineer to join a creative and energetic engineering team developing future iPhone products. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and integration of a variety of analog function blocks and subsystems — including power, audio, battery management, and sensors. This is a great opportunity to be at the focal point of many cross-functional interactions with Apple's internal hardware/software teams, contract manufacturer teams, and IC vendor teams throughout different development stages. We expect familiarity with portable, low-power consumer electronics, preferably in a high-volume, high-quality product environment.

This role requires strong analog and mixed-signal fundamentals, including a deep understanding of noise, linearity, and signal integrity in mixed-signal systems. You should be well-versed in mixed-signal building blocks such as op-amps, filters, ADCs, DACs, and output drivers, as well as low-power sensor and sensor-interface circuits. Hands-on experience in prototyping, characterization, and debugging of mixed-signal hardware is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Strong analog/mixed-signal fundamentals: noise, linearity, signal integrity in mixed-signal systems
  • Deep understanding of mixed-signal building blocks: op-amps, filters, ADCs/DACs, output drivers
  • Familiarity with low-power electronics, sensors, and sensor-interface circuits
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, characterization, and debugging of mixed-signal hardware
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple analog domains: power management, audio analog circuits, sensor interfaces, or battery management
  • Exposure to IC definition, IP development, and cross-functional collaboration with software, mechanical, and thermal teams
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
