Summary

The IT Administrator manages hardware and software systems, provides technical support to users, and maintains network infrastructure. They are responsible for help desk operations, system upgrades, and planning future equipment needs.


Job Summary: The IT Administrator installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties:


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to help desk tickets from users with communication issues.
  • Administer electronic mail.
  • Administer network logins and printers.
  • Administer network backups.
  • Resolves network issues.
  • Install and upgrade network software as necessary.
  • Administer software systems as utilized by facility.
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule upgrades to the system.
  • Direct the operation of computer and related equipment to assure low-cost operation and effective utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Estimate for budget purposes the future equipment needs of the facility and company.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field, making recommendations to management regarding desirable methods.
  • Coordinate the establishment of hardware and software standards as well as methods of evaluating the economics of IT applications throughout the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.
