About Us

Tentacle Tech is an IT and software development consulting company serving some of Malaysia's largest enterprises. We deliver technology solutions, software development services, and IT consulting across multiple industries. We are looking for a talented professional to join our growing team.

The Role

Are you a Linux specialist who takes pride in building secure, auditable systems? We are looking for an experienced, compliance-driven IT Infrastructure Specialist to take ownership of the administration, security and access control of local jump hosts serving as gateways into isolated, air-gapped lab networks in the technology sector. Working closely with the Lead Network Architect and the Network Administrator on a hybrid basis, you will make sure remote connections are securely authenticated, processed and fully audited, while implementing the strict compliance controls that protect export-controlled environments.

What You'll Do

• Deploy, configure and maintain Linux-based jump host virtual machines (Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS) on VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V clusters

• Apply CIS hardening benchmarks and keep jump hosts highly available, patched and performing well

• Configure mandatory user-agreement screens and acceptance gates using PAM, shell login scripts or SSH Force Command

• Build tamper-proof acceptance logging and secure log forwarding or hashing using Rsyslog, Journald or custom scripts

• Manage decentralised local authentication, including Unix accounts, role-based access control and SSH keys

• Support integration with Zscaler ZTNA and CyberArk vPAM sessions, and enforce SSH timeouts and multi-factor authentication controls

• Assist engineers with access issues and support audit trails and access reports during compliance reviews

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 10 years of experience in Linux administration across Rocky Linux, RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu

• Strong scripting ability in Bash and Python

• Hands-on knowledge of SSH (sshd_config), PAM, Rsyslog, Journald and CIS hardening

• Experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter or Microsoft Hyper-V, plus familiarity with VPN, Zscaler ZTNA and CyberArk vPAM

• Bachelor's degree in Network/System Administration, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent technical experience

• Advantageous: RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, LFCS, CompTIA Security+, GISF or CyberArk certifications

What We Offer

• Competitive salary

• Hybrid working arrangement for better work-life balance

• Training and development support to grow your skills and certifications

• Mentorship and clear career progression opportunities

• A supportive, collaborative team environment
