IT Manager (Business Application and Retail Technology)

Position Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of our retail business applications across Greater China.

• You will be the main technology partner for Retail Operations, Marketing, CRM, Merchandising, Finance, and other business functions. You will translate operational needs into practical solutions and coordinate internal teams, developers, vendors, and system integrators to deliver them.

• The role covers our core retail application landscape, including point-of-sale systems, CRM and loyalty platforms, ERP, warehouse management, system integrations, and business intelligence tools. You will also identify opportunities to improve processes through workflow automation and approved AI tools.

Responsibilities:

• Business partnership and application ownership
  Work with business leaders and key users to understand priorities, analyse processes, define requirements, recommend practical technology solutions, and manage the performance, support, lifecycle, roadmap, and continuous improvement of business-critical retail applications.

• Project delivery and adoption
  Lead application implementations, upgrades, integrations, and digital improvement projects from requirements through deployment and post-launch support, managing scope, schedules, costs, risks, resources, testing, communications, training, documentation, and user adoption.

• Integration, data, and reporting
  Oversee integrations and data flows across POS, CRM, ERP, WMS, e-commerce, payment, and reporting platforms, using solution analysis and SQL to investigate issues while improving data quality, reporting, documentation, monitoring, and supportability.

• Service and vendor management
  Coordinate internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents, improve reliability, manage service levels and delivery commitments, and support vendor selection, commercial evaluation, contract renewals, licence management, and performance reviews.

• Automation and continuous improvement
  Identify and evaluate opportunities for workflow automation, low-code tools, scripts, reporting, and approved AI solutions, ensuring they deliver measurable benefits such as reduced manual effort, fewer errors, and improved management information.

• Governance and controls
  Ensure applications meet requirements for security, privacy, access control, procurement, change management, and technology risk, while coordinating vulnerability, recovery, access, and audit activities and maintaining appropriate documentation, procedures, support records, and approval evidence.
  

Requirements:

Experience & Education

• Professional Background: 7+ years of total IT experience with a focus on Software Applications, Business Analysis, or Technical Project Management within the retail or FMCG sector.

• Regional Scope: Proven experience supporting or managing multi-location retail application ecosystems across Greater China.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills & Systems Knowledge

• Core Retail Tech Stack: Hands-on experience managing POS platforms, CRM & Loyalty solutions, ERP, and WMS integrations.

• API & System Integration: Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, Webhooks, middleware architecture, and relational database querying (SQL) to connect front-end retail tools with back-office platforms.

• BI & Data Visualization: Proficiency in Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Qlik) to design operational reporting dashboards and support data-driven decision-making.

• Software Engineering & Automation: Familiarity with modern programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and workflow automation platforms to evaluate technical architecture and implement quick-win efficiencies.

Preferred Certifications & Core Competencies

• Project & BA Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2 preferred.

• IT Governance: ITIL v4 Foundation (Service Management & Change Control).

Languages

• Good command of spoken Cantonese and Putonghua, as well as written Chinese, with working proficiency in English.
