Job Purpose
- The purpose of the HR/Admin Unit Manager is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT HR/Admin Unit in alignment with the business objectives of the GBA Department and the AHM IT Business Unit.
- This individual will plan, coordinate, direct the activities of the HR/Admin Unit, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the HR/Admin Unit.
- They will work closely with decision makers across the organization to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions and/or services for all aspects of the organization.
- This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices as it relates to the services and applications supported by the HR/Admin Unit.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner with the Department Manager to shape and advance the strategic vision and direction of AHM IT, the Enterprise System Services Division, and the General Business Applications Department, translating organizational objectives into actionable plans and driving effective execution of divisional and departmental strategies.
- Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across North America and Honda Global organizations, establish trust, credibility, and alignment through a deep understanding of business needs. Leverage influence, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement to advance enterprise priorities and maximize the achievement of North America IT objectives.
- Build, develop, and lead high-performing IT teams by fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and accountability through effective coaching, mentoring, talent development, and performance management. Inspire and empower associates to remain engaged, motivated, and aligned in achieving organizational goals, business objectives, and operational excellence.
- Lead the successful delivery of the HR/Admin Unit project portfolio by achieving approved annual objectives and ensuring commitments related to schedule, budget, quality, scope, and business value are consistently met
- Provide leadership and governance for the HR/Admin application portfolio, ensuring reliable operations, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms supporting Human Resources, Administration, Time & Attendance, Talent Management, Learning, Employee Services, and Digital Workflow processes. Partner with business leaders to define priorities, develop technology roadmaps, manage service delivery, and drive innovation that enhances organizational effectiveness and user experience.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Educational qualifications: Must have a Bachelors level college degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems / IT, Electronics or a related STEM field of study.
- Minimum work experience:
- At least 10 years of relevant IT experience in core business systems, preferably in an enterprise environment in the manufacturing industry
• Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving organizational change.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance strategic priorities and operational demands.
• Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise, and impactful business communications.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior leadership and executive management.
• Proven experience developing, managing, and forecasting operational and project budgets.
• Strong vendor management and contract oversight experience, including performance management and service delivery governance.
Other preferred knowledge and experience:
• Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise Human Resources and Administration IT systems, including platforms such as ServiceNow HRSD, UKG/Kronos Workforce Management, SuccessFactors, OpenText Info Archive, SAP ECC, Learning Management, Talent Management, and related business applications.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application lifecycle management, technology roadmaps, governance, and service delivery best practices.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional technology initiatives and digital transformation programs.
• Excellent understanding of organizational goals, business processes, and strategic planning methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of data privacy, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements applicable to Human Resources and employee data.
• Strong understanding of Human Resources, Workforce Management, and Administration business processes, policies, and practices.
• Demonstrated success building collaborative partnerships and aligning diverse stakeholder groups to achieve common business objectives.
• Experience applying Agile, Lean, and continuous improvement principles to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and talent development capabilities with a focus on building high-performing teams
Workstyle
- This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval
