IT Manager
- Newly created position
- Build IT from the ground up
- No manager experience required!
As the business continues to expand its retail footprint, technology is becoming increasingly critical to the customer experience and day-to-day operation of the business. We are looking for an IT Manager to take ownership of the organisation's technology environment and establish the foundations of an IT function that can scale with the business.
This is a genuinely hands-on IT leadership opportunity. There is currently no dedicated operational IT team, so this role is suited to someone who enjoys being close to the technology, solving problems directly and building things properly from the ground up.
You will have broad ownership across infrastructure, systems, stores technology, end-user support, vendors, security and technology projects, while also playing an important role in shaping the organisation's future IT strategy.
What Makes This Role Different?
This isn't a role where you inherit a large team and an established technology environment. You will have the opportunity to build it.
The successful candidate will be involved in establishing the IT operating model, introducing appropriate systems and processes, improving the technology supporting the retail network and laying the foundations for a scalable environment as the business grows. You will also have the opportunity to:
- Lead greenfield IT projects and implementations.
- Design and establish infrastructure, systems and support processes.
- Take ownership of POS and store technology.
- Provide hands-on L1/L2 support while also resolving more complex L3 issues.
- Work closely with retail, operations, finance and leadership teams.
- Manage technology vendors and external service providers.
- Develop IT standards, policies, documentation and security practices.
- Build and lead an internal IT team as the organisation grows.
- Support the technology requirements of new store openings, including future international locations.
- Help shape how technology enables the business's continued domestic and international expansion.
You don't need a large team around you to get things done. In fact, you enjoy being the person who can diagnose a problem, work through the solution and, where appropriate, get hands-on and fix it.
You will ideally bring:
- Windows Server, virtualisation, server and storage hardware
- IT security, system hardening and data protection
- Windows, macOS, iOS and Android support
- Strong understanding of POS systems and the technology ecosystem supporting retail stores/hospitality venues.
- Managing vendors to SLA and running an IT budget
- To start with, happy to support the business L1/L2/L3
- Experience supporting retail, hospitality, venues or other multi-site customer-facing environments.
- Experience with store infrastructure including networks, Wi-Fi, connectivity, endpoints, printers, payment systems and other store technology.
- Full-time role with 1-day WFH (Friday)
- Product discount
- Head Office in Alexandria
