IT Operations Lead (Level 2/3 support)

Your new company

Join an established organisation operating within the financial services sector, based in Sydney CBD. You'll work within a professional, highly regulated environment where technology reliability, security and service are critical to day-to-day operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for greater ownership and autonomy while remaining technically hands-on.

Your new role

As the IT Operations Lead, you will be the key local point of contact for technology, taking ownership of the day-to-day IT environment and providing hands-on Level 2/3 technical support.

This is a broad role where you'll troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, support users and business applications, maintain the local technology environment and coordinate with other technology teams and external vendors when required.

You'll have exposure across Microsoft technologies, infrastructure, networking, applications, security and IT operations, with the autonomy to manage priorities and take ownership of issues through to resolution.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll be an experienced and well-rounded Level 2/3 support professional who is comfortable being the go-to technical person within an office environment.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong hands-on Level 2/3 IT support experience within a corporate environment.
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and take ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and/or Entra ID.
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, endpoints and common business applications.
  • Good networking knowledge, including troubleshooting connectivity, LAN and related infrastructure issues.
  • Experience supporting user onboarding, offboarding, access management and workstation setup.
  • A good understanding of cybersecurity, patching, backups, access controls and change management.
  • Experience supporting and coordinating hardware, software and IT assets.
  • The ability to work effectively with external vendors and other technology teams on escalated or more complex issues.
  • Strong documentation skills and an understanding of working within structured IT processes and controls.
  • Experience within financial services, banking or another regulated corporate environment would be highly regarded.
  • Above all, you'll need to enjoy being hands-on. This position will suit someone who doesn't want to be restricted to a narrow support function and enjoys taking ownership of a broader technology environment.

What you'll get in return

  • Salary ranging from $100k-$120k + super.
  • 2 days working from home per week after successfully completing probation.
  • A broad, autonomous role with genuine ownership of the local IT environment.
  • Exposure across infrastructure, networking, security, applications and IT operations.
  • The opportunity to develop your career within an established financial services organisation.
