Position Overview:

OUI Recruitment is seeking an IT Project Engineer to join a well-established managed service provider based in West Perth. This role sits within a dedicated project team of five and is aimed at an experienced engineer who has moved beyond day to day support and wants to focus on design, delivery, and technical leadership.

You will work across a varied client base that includes a number of recognisable Western Australian organisations, delivering infrastructure, cloud, networking, and connectivity projects that go well beyond standard MSP work. Scoping, solution design, and technical ownership all sit with you, alongside the research and development work that shapes what the business recommends to its clients. Where junior engineers are involved in delivery, you will be the technical point of escalation and the person guiding the approach.

Certifications are funded, formal education is supported, and there is a real expectation that everyone keeps building their skills rather than standing still. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, scope, and deliver infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security projects across a varied client base
• Produce solution designs, technical documentation, and implementation plans
• Act as the technical lead on project delivery, setting the approach and quality standard
• Research and evaluate new technologies, products, and vendors, and make recommendations to the business and its clients
• Run technical discovery sessions and translate client requirements into practical solutions
• Deliver migrations, upgrades, and greenfield builds across Microsoft, networking, and hosted platform environments
• Provide technical escalation, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to engineers involved in delivery
• Manage project tasks and time through the PSA platform, working alongside project managers and account teams
• Work effectively with vendors to reach resolution on complex technical issues
• Contribute to internal standards, templates, and knowledge base documentation
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders at both technical and management level

Role Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with recent project delivery experience
• Background in a managed service provider, systems integrator, or similar multi-client environment
• Proven experience designing solutions, not just implementing them
• Strong documentation skills with genuine attention to detail
• Confident communicator able to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadline
• Self-motivated with the ability to own work end to end
• Genuine interest in continuous learning and professional development
• Australian working rights required

Technical Requirements:

• Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including migrations and tenant design
• Azure infrastructure, networking, and hybrid identity
• Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V or VMware)
• Networking design and implementation (routing, switching, VLANs, VPN), Cisco or equivalent
• Firewall platforms (Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, or similar)
• Hosted voice, internet connectivity, and cloud server hosting solutions
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto, or similar)
• Security tooling and Essential Eight uplift experience
• PSA and RMM platform experience (ConnectWise or similar)
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Microsoft and Cisco certifications highly regarded
