IT Project Manager
Summary
Oversee strategic IT projects for Crawford’s UK operations, coordinating with stakeholders to deliver complex changes and drive best-practice processes.
- To manage complex and strategic IT projects for the UK business
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to effectively shape, mobilise and deliver project outcomes
- Work with other IT functions and business customers to deliver an outstanding IT service to the Crawford business
- Drive robust best practice processes and excellence in project delivery
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with clients, Crawford business operations and IT to deliver complex changes
- Utilise best practices in project management and agile project delivery
- Ensure senior stakeholders have the right information to make informed decisions
- Plan significant milestones across a number of workstreams ensuring relevant dependencies are identified and managed
- Create and maintain roll out schedules and track progress, ensuring key stakeholders are kept up to date
- Identify key risks and issues early, building an effective approach to mitigation, securing support of stakeholders where necessary
- Coach others and help them understand the rationale for a technical approach
- Conduct post implementation reviews to drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage client relationships and vendors in relation to project delivery
- Work with stakeholders, functional areas and business analysts to develop business requirements
- Manage project budgets
- Work closely with the management team to produce accurate delivery estimates and prioritise workload in line with release schedules
- Identify and resolve gaps in skills, processes, and resources
Qualifications
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills required to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups
- Ability to identify opportunities and transform them into quantifiable and achievable initiatives
- Must be a dynamic and self-starting individual who is able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal guidance and direction
- Must be able to continuously learn new skills to keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work in order to meet deadlines
- Must be able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organisation
- Project Management experience of IT projects including:
- Application development
- Systems integration and migration
- IT infrastructure projects
- Process change
- Helpful
- Knowledge of insurance, claims or other transactional business process and systems
- Business architecture experience
- Relevant professional qualifications beneficial (for example Agile Accreditation, PRINCE2 etc)
- Traditional and agile methodologies
- Project management best practices
- Project planning and reporting
- Vendor management
- Internal and external stakeholder management and communications including clients
- Confidence managing client-facing projects with a defined scope
- Experience of agile and traditional project delivery methodologies
- Ability to control and manage project management plans through the entire project life cycle
- Ability to quickly understand client requirements and business objectives
- Sufficient understanding of application and infrastructure technologies to work effectively with technical teams
- Ability to understand and support in house systems and adapt to rapidly changing software.
- Able to make pragmatic proposals that balance differing project requirements and constraints
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
