Summary

An IT Project Manager at a UK managed service provider, running multiple concurrent IT and telecoms projects — hosted voice, broadband, LAN/WAN upgrades, cloud/Microsoft 365 migrations and cybersecurity — coordinating clients, support desks, field engineers and vendors. Permanent role, £35–40k, hybrid near the South Cheshire/Staffordshire border.

Salary: £35,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally within a Managed Service Provider (MSP), IT services, or telecommunications environment.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud/Microsoft 365 migrations, as well as telecoms and UCaaS environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a strong customer-first mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm, structured approach under pressure.
  • Formal project management methodology training or certification, such as Prince2, Agile, or equivalent, is advantageous; practical hands-on MSP experience is equally valued.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, track, and close multiple IT and telecoms projects simultaneously, ensuring quality standards and delivery timelines are met.
  • Coordinate projects across hosted voice platforms, internet connectivity and broadband, LAN/WAN upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity implementations.
  • Schedule and assign work to internal support desks and field engineers, and manage third-party vendors and carrier relationships.
  • Lead client kick-off meetings, provide progress updates, and manage client expectations through clear communication.
  • Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and manage change requests to prevent scope creep.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from project implementation to business-as-usual support, with accurate documentation of technical configurations and project files.
