IT Specialist
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and end-user technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across computer hardware, software, networking, and business applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and device deployment.
- Working knowledge of network engineering principles including basic cabling, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP. Cisco switch/router experience is a plus
- Experience supporting printers, scanners, mobile devices, conference-room technology, and shared devices.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint security, access management, and incident reporting.
- Strong customer service, communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work based on safety, production, security, and business impact.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with local and remote teams.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. Occasional travel, after-hours support, and on-call participation may be required.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Service as the local IT contact, providing front-line support for plant and office users, PCs, mobile devices, printers, scanners, tablets, kiosks, conference-room technology, and business applications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues; own incidents and service requests through resolution or confirmed handoff.
- Prioritize and communicate issues, escalating as needed to the appropriate IT team or vendor.
- Support local infrastructure and shop-floor technology in coordination with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Application teams.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, inventory, refresh, recover, and securely dispose of end-user devices and other IT-controlled assets.
- Ensure systems and devices comply with company security, patching, configuration, and technology standards.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, diagrams, support procedures, knowledge articles, and recovery information.
- Participate in projects, upgrades, plant shutdowns, maintenance windows, equipment moves, and technology deployments.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend secure, simple, supportable improvements through standardization, automation, and self-service.
- Build trusted business relationships, represent the IT organization professionally, and follow all plant safety and PPE requirements.
Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, ITIL, or equivalent industry certifications are preferred.
